All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Loose Will, NC Archives CR 073.801, Will Book Volume E, page 75 Written: December 8, 1824 Recorded: Feb 1825 Testator: Leslie OKelly In the name of God Amen I Leslie OKelly of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina, being in a low state of health, but of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, To wit, First, I give to my beloved wife all my land and tenements, Two horses, by the name Dick and Diamond, and all my other stock (vz) hogs Cattle and Sheep, also one gig and harness, one Cart and oxens, during her life or widowhood, but in case she marries; then the said property to be equally devided betwen my wife Nancey, and all of my heirs forever I also give to my wife Nancey one bag of hard money, with the rest of my money in hand, together with my notes and accompts, after the payment of all my just debts, it is my will and desire that the surplus should go to the purchase of a negro girl. it is also my will and desire that my wife receive the surplus part of my Crop no[w] on hand -- It is my will and desire that my children should receive as much of my estate, when they become of age or marry, as my executors, (hereafter to be named) should deam[sic] necessary It is also my will and desire that my Executors shall have full power [to] act and that all bargains, and sales, be made by them and at there[sic] discretion - I hereby appoint my Brother Franklin OKelly and my Brother in Law John McCauley my Executors to this my last will and Testament given under my hand and seal this 6th day of December AD 1824 Witness Leslie OKelly (seal) H.
