All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Loose Will, NC Archives CR 073.801, Will Book Volume D, pages 509-510 Written: 8 April 1817 Recorded: Aug l817 Testator: Hannah Ray In the name of God Amen, I Hannah Ray of the County of Orange & State of North Caroline[sic], Being weak in Body, But of of Sound mind and memory Do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manor[sic] and form fol[l]owing first I Do give and bequeath to my Eldest Son James Massy James[Cames?] Lindly; my youngest Son Matthew Ray & my two grand Sons, the young- -est sons of my Daughters Lyda West and Ann Wolf at the Deceas[e] of my two Daughters, a certain note of hand now in my poss[ess]ion on my Son Matthew Ray for the sum of ninety five Dolers and I also give and Bequeath to the Said legatees all the money which I may Die Seis'd and poses'd of -- I further give and Bequ[e]ath to my Eldest Daughter Lyda West one bed two Sheet fourte[e]n Y[ard]s coten cloth I also give and Bequath to my youngest Daughter Ann Wolf one bed and one Suit of curtains, I also give and Bequeath to my two Daughters all my clothes to to[sic] be Equaly Devi'd betwe[e]n them and I here By apoint my Son Mathew Ray and John Stockard Executers of this my last will and testament, hereby Revoking all other wills By me maid, In witness whareof I hareunto Set my hand and Seal this 8th April 1817 Test Hannah Ray (seal) John Stockard Jurat Exs qualified [Will Book Volume D, page 509] In the name of God Amen, I Hannah Ray of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina being weak in body, But of of sound Mind and Memory do make and publish this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following First I do give & bequeath to my eldest Son James Massey James Lindley; my youngest Son Matthew Ray & my two Grand -sons, the youngest sons of my daughter[s] Lydia West & Ann Wolf at the decease of my two daughters a certain note of hand now in my possession on my Son Matthew Ray for the sum of ninety five dollars and I also give and bequeath unto the said Legatees all the money which I may die seized & possessed of - I further give and bequeath to my eldest daughter Lydia West one Bed two Sheet fourteen yd. cotton cloth, I also give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Ann Wolf on[e] Bed & one Suit of Curtains, I also give and bequeath to my two daughters [Will Book Volume D, page 510] all my clothes to be equally divided between them.
