In the name of God Amen.

I John Redman of the County of Orange
and State of North Carolina, calling to mind
the uncertainty of life and the certainty of
Death, And being of sound mind, and per=
=fect memory, Do make and ordain this
my last Will and testament in words follow=
=ing, (that is to say) ----    ----    ----

First my will is that all my Just debts
be punctually and spe[e]dily [be] paid

Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved
Daughter Margaret Redman all of my estate both
personal and real during her life to her use
and disposal, during her life ---

Thirdly my will is that after the d[e]ath of my
Daughter Margaret Redman, my land with
the appertainnances I give and bequeath to my
grand son John Riley Juniour provide[d] he
the said John Riley Jr. stays with takes care of
and supports my d[a]ughter Margaret Redmon
dureing her life ----    ----    ----    ----

Fourthly my will is, that after the death of my Daughter
Margrett Redmon, all of my personal property
be sold by my executor to the highest bidder
on a credit of twelve months, and the neat
proceeds thereof be equally divided among
John Redmon Jr, and Sally Riley wife of
John Riley, and Nancy Redden wife of John
Redden, and Elizabeth Browning wife of
James Browning ----

Fifthly I do make, ordain and appoint
my worthy friend Willoughby Hudgens
Executor to this my last will and testament
And do declare all other wills of mine prior
to this date null and void --- in testamony
Whereof I have here unto set my hand
and affixed my seal, this the 5th day of
September A.D. 1829--

Do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in words
following that is to say) First my Will is that all my Just

The Execution of the foregoing last Will and Testament of John
Redmon Deceased was duly proved in open Court by the oaths
of William Chambe & John Riley the subscribing witnesses thereto
& ordered to be recorded
