Know all men by these presents that I Hardy Sanders
of County of Wake and State of North Carolina for
and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds to me
in hand paid by [x-out] John Grant Rencher of the County
of Orange and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I
do hereby acknowledge has bargained sold and delivered
and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver unto
the said John Grant Rencher a certain negroe Girl named
Lindy what said Girl I do hereby for myself my Heirs
Executors and Administrator warrant and defend from
all manner of person or persons who shall lay any
claim right or title to the aforesaid Girl her and her
increase forever unto the said John Grant Rencher
his Heirs or assigns forever [ink blot] also do ensure said
Girl to be a sound and healthy Girl free from all
impediments or hurts In witness whereof I have here=
=unto set my hand & Seal this 3 day of March 1790
