   In the name of God Amen I Margaret Riggs of the County of Orange
and State of North Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory
blessed be God this Eighteenth day of May in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and Twenty eight make & publish this my
last will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First - I bequeath all my Just debts to be paid for that purpose do
give my Executor hereinafter named full & ample power to sell so much
and such part of my personal estate and in such manner as they may believe
most expedient to enable them to discharge my said debts
Secondly I give & bequeath to my sister Mary Morton fifty cents
Thirdly I give & bequeath to my sister Jane Akens fifty cents
Fourtly I give & bequeath to my sister Sarah Montomery fifty cents
Fifthly I give & bequeath to my brother William Riggs fifty cents
Sixth I give & bequeath to my brother James Riggs snr fifty cents
Seventh I give & bequeath to my sister Ann Kell fifty cents
Eighthly I give & bequeath to my sister Nancy Jackson fifty cents
Ninthly I give & bequeath to my sister Susan Watson fifty cents
Tenth I give & bequeath to my sister Elizabeth Hall fifty cents
Eleventh I give & bequeath to my sister Rachel Nichols fifty cents
Twelfth I give & bequeath to James Riggs (son of Ann Kell) my
part of Two hundred acres of an undivided tract of land and all my
Stock of horses Cows Hogs & Sheep also my Desk beds and furniture. - 
farming tools and all movable property
   Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint James Riggs (son of Ann Kell)
of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina Executor to this my
last will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day & year
first above written

                                    Orange County August Term 1849
   The execution of the foregoing last will & Testament of Margaret Riggs
deceased was duly proved in open court by the oath of Josiah Turner Sr.
one of the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded
   At the same time James Riggs the Exr named in said will appeared
in open court and qualified accordingly.
