All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Will Book Volume A, pages 158-160 Written: December 10, 1771 Recorded: Jan 1772 Testator: Alexander Russell [Will Book Volume A, page 158] In the Name of God Amen I Alexander Russell of Orange County in the Province of of North Carolina being weak in Body But of Sound Mind and memory do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner & form following that is to Say I give my Soul to God that gave it and my Body to be Buried in a decent Christian Manner at the Discretion of my Executors hearafter Named and as Touching Such Worldly Goods as it has Pleased God to bestow upon me, I give and Bequeath the Same in Manner and form following Imprimis I order all my Just Debts to be Paid and funeral Charges discharged as my Executor Shall think Convenient, Item I give and Bequeath to my well Beloved wife Jane One Roan Mare Named Phenix and Saddle also one Bead and furniture to hir, hir Heirs and Assigns for Ever, Item I lend unto my Said wife the Use of my Plantation where on I now live during hir widdowhood to enable hir to Support Rais[e] and School my Children and after hir Widdowhood to be Sold and the money arising from Such Sale to be Equally Devided between my Children hear in after Named, Item I give & Bequeath to my Son James one Sorrel Horse & Saddle to him his heirs and Assigns for Ever, Item I give and Bequeath to my ~~ Daughter Margret one large Iron Pott also I give to my Said Daughter Margret what feathers will be left after my Said wife Shall have made hir own Bed to hir, hir Heirs and Assigns for Ever Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Eelioner one Iron Griddle to hir, hir Heirs and Assigns for Ever Item I give and Bequeath to my son Alexander the Sum of fourteen Pounds Proclamation Money to him his heirs and Assigns for Ever Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth my next largest Iron Pott to hir, hir Heirs and Assigns for [Ever] Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Jane my new walnut Chest [Will Book Volume A, page 159] Chest to hir, hir Heir and Assigns for Ever Item I give to my Beloved wife Jane for the use of my Said Children all the Clothing flax and Cotton now in my House to be used as ??)
