I Mariah Scarlett of the County of Orange and state of North Carolina
on this 30th day of June 1868 being of sound mind and disposing
memory do make this my last Will & Testament in the following words
and figures. viz.
1 I desire all my Just debts to be paid
2 my funeral expenses to be paid
3 I give all my real & personal estate of my Sister Delilah Scarlett
during her life time
After my Sister Delilah Scarletts' death I give the place once owned
and known as the Moses Guess place to Christmas a freed-man once
belonging to us, provided he remains with my sister Delilah during
her life time
   I leave my Sister delilah Scarlett executor to this my last
Will & testament;
   In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my mark in the presence
of William P Crabtree and William ? Shields Snr. Witness, acknowledging
this and this only my last Will and testament.
