Testator: Mary Taylor

I Mary Taylor of the Town of Newbern
State of North Carolina being of sound mind
and memory, do make and declare this my
last Will and Testament in manner and
form following That is to say

                              I give and
devise to my daughter Elizabeth Ann Taylor
Eight hundred dollars ----

To my daughter Mary J wife of Martin
Stevenson of Washington NC Five hundred
dollars for her sole & seperate use free from
the debts contracts or engagements of the said
Martin Sevenson, husband of my daughter Mary
The balance of my real and personal
estate I give to my daughter Susan wife
of my son Richard N Taylor for her sole
& separate use during her natural life
free from the debts, contract or liabilities of
the said Richard N Taylor and at her
death to the children of the said Richard
N. & Susan Taylor.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint
my son Richard N Taylor my lawful
executor to all intents and purposes

In witness whereof, I the said Mary
Taylor do hereunto set my hand & seal this
thirteenth day of March 1861

Ann Taylor Eight Hundred Dollars

To my Daughter Mary J Wife of Martin
Stevenson of Washington N.C. Five Hundred
Dollars for her sole & sepreate[sic] use free from the debts
Contracts or engagements of the said Martin
Stevenson husband of my Daughter Mary the
balance of my real and personal Estate
I Give to my Daughter Susan Wife of my Son
Richard N Taylor for her sole & separate
use during her natural life free from the
debts contract or liabilities of the Said
Richard N Taylor and at her death to
the children of the said Richard N. &
Susan Taylor.

And lastly I do hereby Constitute and
appoint my son Richard N Taylor my
lawful Executor to all intents and
purposes

In witness whereof I ["have hereunto set my" x-out]
the Said Mary Taylor do hereunto Set my
hand & seal this thirteenth day of March 1861
