All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Will Book Volume A, pages 95-97 Written: March 17, 1769 Recorded: Apr 1769 Testator: Owen Thomas [Will Book Volume A, page 95] In the Name of God Amen the Seventeenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Nine I Owen Thomas of the County of Orange and Pro= =vince of North Carolina being weak in Body but of a sound Memory blessed be God do make and publish this my last Will & Testament and form following first of all for all my Lawfull Debts and funeral Charges to be discharged within a year after my Decease ~~~ [Will Book Volume A, page 96] Item I do give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Mary Thomas all my lands goods and Chattels that I do now process during the time of her widowhood and if she should marry after my Decease for my moveable Estate all but my two Horses which I do give to my wife to help to Raise my Children with, to be Equally divided among my wife and my Six Small Children (Viz) ~~ Hester, Joana, Lewis, Jonathan, John, Elizabeth ~~~ Aalso[sic] for my Brother James Thomas to have a part with my wife and Children as long as he lives with them but at this Departure for it all to Return to them again Also my land to be Equally Divided amongst my three Youngest Sons (Viz) Lewis, Jonathan and John and for Lewis to have that part where on I now live ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ I Also give and bequeath to my beloved son William Thomas one Shilling Sterling to him and his heir only property use I Also give & bequeath to my beloved son James Thomas one Shilling Sterling I Also give & beque[a]th to my beloved son George Thomas one Shilling Sterling I Also give and bequeath to my beloved son Mikle Thomas one Shilling Sterling I Also give & bequeath to my beloved Daughter Mary Hart one Shilling Sterling.
