All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Loose Will, NC Archives CR 073.801, Will Book Volume E, pages 18-19 Written: March 7, 1817 Recorded: May 1822 Testator: Susannah Ward In the name of God Amen I Susanna Ward of Orange County and State of North Carolina being of perfict Sound mind & memory Do this Seventh Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and seventeen Constitute and publish this my Last Will and Testament in man[n]er & form as follows that is to Say first I give and bequ[e]ath to my son William Ward one negro boy named Isum I also give & bequ[e]ath to my Son James Ward heirs twenty Shillings I also give and beque[a]th to my son Stephen Ward two negroes named Nathen and Polly and one Large bible and one third of my property that is to say one Wagon Stock and farming utensils and all other such articles out of Doors and one fourth of the money and notes that is on hand at my Deces after my funeral Expenses and Debt is paid and Stephen Ward pay to my Daughter Sarah Clark one hundred and fifty Dollars at my Decease if the negro girl Polly lives till my Death I also give and beque[a]th to my Son Thomas Ward the same divide as To my Son Stephen negroes Excepted I also give and bequeath to my Son Anthoney Ward two negroes boys Hardy and Bob him paying his two Sons Eneas and William Twenty five Dollars Each I also give to my Son Anthony Ward one Clock & one Iron Stove that stands in my Roomeand a Equal divide with Stephen and Thomas in the property above mentioned I also Give and beque[a]th to my Daughter Asther Wells one Caese of drawers one feather bead and furniture my hat and half my body Clathes The case of drawers and bed and furniture to be Sold by my Executors and the money give to Asther Wells. I also give and beque[a]th to my Daughter Priscilla Free the other half of my body Cloaths one Corner Cubert one feather bead and furniture one Large Walnut table one large Tea cittle one Coffee Mill one set of fire dogs one fourth of the money and notes on hand at my Deses to be Equally divided betwe[e]n hir and Ashter Wells - I also give and beque[a]th to my Daughter Sarah Clark one feather bead and furniture and tea table one tea cittle these articles to be sold and hir to have the money I also give and beque[a]th to my daughter Susana Pike heres[heirs] twenty Shillings all the balence of my house hold furniture that is not named already is to be Sold and Equal[l]y divided betwe[e]n my three daughters Asther Wells Sarah Clark and Precela Free - I also Constitute [and] Appoint my son Stephen Ward and David Patterson my Executors to this my Last Will and testament in Witness where of I have Set my hand and affixt my Seal the day and year above Writ[t]en { Enterlined before sind Signed Sealed and published by the sd.
