J. Whitted forty shares owned by me in the .....of N. Carolina. Thirdly, I give to my son Henry Whitted twenty shares of the stock held by me in the Bank of [Cape] Fear - ... I give to my grandson Nash [Whitted] ten shares held by me in the Bank of ........Fifthly I give ten shares of the stock held by me [in] the Bank of Cape Fear to my grand daughter Mary Whitted & four hundred dollars to purchase her...... woman, if my Ex[cutor] should think proper to lay out money in this way, rather than to put it to ..........I..... all the .....of my....to be sold and the proceed to be divided.......follows one third to my son Henry, one third to my daughter Eliza J. Whitted & the other third to be divided between my grand children, Nash Whitted & Mary Thomas Whitted.
