J. Whitted forty shares owned by me in the State Bank of NoCarolina Thirdly I give to my son Henry Whitted twenty shares of the stock held by me in the Bank of Cape Fear Fourthly I give to my grandson son[sic] Nash Whitted ten shares held by me in the Bank of Cape Fear Fifthly I give ten shares of the Stock held by me in the Bank of Cape Fear to my grand daughter Mary T. Whitted and four Hundred Doll. to Purchase her a Negro Woman if my Ex. should think proper to lay out the money in that way rather than Put It to Interest Sixthly I direct all the residue of my property to be sold and the proceeds to be divided as follows one third to my son Henry one third to my daughter Eliza J. Whitted and the other third to be devided between my Grand Children Nash Whitted [page 2] and Mary Terminia[?] Whitted Lastly I hereby appoint James Webb my Executor with all the Power and authority of an Executor to carry into effect this my last Will and Testament Witness my hand and seal this 25 day of Febr. 1823 Published signed and } declared to be my } Mary Whitted (seal) last Will in presence } of Will.
