All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Loose Will, NC Archives CR 073.801, Will Book Volume F, page 7 Written: July 3, 1838 Recorded: Aug 1838 Testator: Ann Wilkinson In the name of God, Amen I Ann Wilkinson of the County of Orange, and State of North Carolina being weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following (that is to say:) First I give and bequeath to my Son James Wilkinson one bed bedstead, and clothing also one cow I also give to my two daughters Frances & Polly Wilkinson one bureau one table one set of chairs, one flax, and one cotton wheel, each: I also give to my said daughters Frances and Polly one bed bedsteads and clothing each ~~ I further give to my daughters Frances and Polly one cow each I also give to my two sons Francis & James Wilkerson the Waggon and geer allowing said Francis & James to pay to my youngest Son John Wilkinson Five Dollars. I also give to my two daughters, Nancy Pickett & Margaret McDaniel Five Dollars each ~~~ The present Crop now on the ground I allow for the use of James Frances & Polly Wilkinson, to gether with the meat now in the Smoke House ~~~ I also give to said James, Frances and Polly Wilkinson all my hogs. ~~~ All the rest of my property I allow to be sold and my two daughters Frances & Polly to have Twenty five Dollars each arising from said sale: the ballance of money arising from s'd sale to be equally divided among my five daughters (namely) Elizabeth Wilkinson Nancy Pickett Frances & Polly Wilkinson and Margaret McDaniel. ~~~ I do hereby appoint Francis Wilkinson my son and John Wilkinson (of Daniel) executors of this my last will and testament; hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof, I have her[e]unto set my hand and seal the 3rd day of July in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty eight. Tinnin Orange County August Term 1838 The Execution of the foregoing last Will and Testament of Ann Wilkerson decd. was duly proved in open Court by the oaths of William Wilkerson & Rober G Tinnin the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded At the same time Frances Wilkerson & John Wilkerson the Executors therein named app- eared in open Court & qualified accordingly Additional Comments: Will Book Volume F, page 7 Recorded Aug 1838 Has daughter Frances and son Francis. Loose will clearly written surname and signatures "Wilkinson". Will book copy has "Wilkerson" No estate papers found.
