I James Wilson of the County of Orange, & State of North Carolina, do on this twenty Fourth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Thirteen, make and pub= =lish, this my last will and Testament, in Manner follow= =ing, that is to Say ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ First I Give to my two Sisters, Maryann & Elizabeth my Land and plantation whereon I now live, with all the appurtenances thereunto Belonging , to be Equally Divided betwe[e]n them, haveing respect to quantity and quallity ~~~~ Also I give to my two above Mentioned Sisters (Maryann & Elizabeth) all my living Stock, con= =sisting of Cattle Hoggs &c Togather[sic] with all my Farming tools, Crop of grain and Provisions now on hand ~~~ ~~~ I Further allow my two above mentioned Sisters (Maryann and Elizabeth) to Support my Father & Mother, during the Term of their natural Lives in as Comfortable a manner as the nature of the Farm, and their Circumstances will admit of ~~~ In Witness whereof I the Said James Wilson, have Constituted, and appointed, James Lapslie and Thomas Armstrong, Executors to this, and to See it per= =formed according to my true Intent, and Meaning of the same after which I have hereunto Set my hand, and afix'd my Seal the day and date first above written ~~ Signed and Acknowledged in presence of James Wilson (Seal) Wm Shepperd } Egbert Shepperd } Jurat Exrs qualified [Will Book Volume D, page 537] In the Name of God Amen, I James Wilson of the County of Orange, & State of North Carolina, do on this twenty fourth day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Thirteen make and publish, this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to Say ~~~ First I give to my two Sisters, Maryann & Elizabeth, my Land and plantation whereon I now live with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, to be equally divided between them, having respect to quantity and quality ~~ Also I give to my two above mentioned Sisters (Maryann & Elizabeth) all my living stock consisting of Cattle, Hogs &c together with all my farming tools, Crop of grain and provisions now on hand ~~ I further allow my two above mentioned Sisters (Maryann & Elizabeth) to support my Father and Mother during the term of their natural lives in as Com =fortable a manner as the nature of the Farm, and their Circumstances will admit of, In Witness whereof I the Said James Wilson have Constituted and appointed James Lapslie and Thomas Armstrong Executors to this, and to see it performed according to my true intent and meaning of the same, after which I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal the day and date first above written ~~ Signed & acknowledged in presence of James Wilson (Seal) Wm Shepperd } Egbert Shepperd } Orange County August Term 1818 The Execution of the foregoing last Will and testament of James Wilson decd was duly proved in open Court by the Oaths of William Shepperd & Egbert Shepperd subscribing Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded - At the same [time] the Executors therein named qualified accordingly Test Additional Comments: Will Book Volume D, page 537 Recorded Aug 1818 Estate Papers comprise 21 pages and are found in a folder labeled "Wilson, James (1822)". Allotment of dower for Phebe, who does not appear to be the relict of this testator, so this folder is likely for a different estate.
