I Jane Wilson of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memorey (blessed be God) do this Fifth Day of September in the year of [our] Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty one make and Publish this my this my[sic] last will and Testament in manner and farm[sic] following (viz.) First it is my will & disier that my Just debts ["be paid" x-out] and Funeral expences be paid ~~~~ Second. I give and bequeath to my Sons-in-law Sam -uel and Absolom Turentines my negroe man Giberd[Gilbert] to them and their Heirs forever and it is farther[sic] my desier that the sd. Samuel & Absolom take care and Support the sd. Gilbert during his natural life ~~~~ Third I give and bequeath to my Son John all the Stock of cows Sheepe Geese Bees and allso all other Property owned by me that is now in the possession of my Daughter Elizabeth (wife of Solomon Latta) and allso an Equal part of my other property with the rest of my other Children that is to say one ninth part to have and to hold forever in trust nevertheless to the intent and meaning that the sd. Trustee apply so much of the procedes or proffits of sd. Stocks or other property to the maintainence[sic] and support of my Daughter Elizabeth & that upon the [page 2] Death of my Daughter the sd. Trustee shall convey all the sd. property that may then be remaining to the children of Elizabeth (wife of Solomon Latta) to be Equally divided amongst them Each to share and share alike ~~~~ Fourth. I give & bequeath to my children Nancy . Charles . John . Robert . Josiah . Fanny . Anderson . Caleb the proceedes of the sale of all my other property to be sold by my executor and equally divided amongst those then living the children of those who are dead to represent their Father each to share & share alike ~~~~ Lastly I hereby made & ordain Samuel Tur[r]entine Executor of this my last will & testament in witness whereof I the sd James Wilson have to this my last will & testament set my hand & af[f]ixed this my seal the day & year First above written. Signed sealed & Published and delivered by the sd.
