Wilson of Chapel Hill North Carolina being of Sound and disposing mind and memory and being sensible that I must soon die do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form as follows. First I Commend my soul to God who gave it and my body I direct shall be decently buried at the discretion of my beloved wife Touching my worldly estate which God in his goodness has been pleased to bestow upon me ["I desire" x-out] ["shall be disposed of as follows (after" x-out] ["paying my Just debts)" x-out] Consisting in One Note on Isaac N Clegg for Four hundred and Twenty Seven dollars dated 24th Dec 1851 One other note on Jones Watson for Twenty five dollars dated 20th April 1852 One other note on Jahiel Atwater for One hundred & sixty dollars dated 26th Dec 1851 with a Credit [of] five dollars & thirty cents. One other note on Matthew McCauley for Eight dollars dated 27th April 1852. One other note on J J Colleen for Thirty dollars and thirty five cents dated 28th [page 2] April 1852 One other note on J J Collen and Grey Utley for Two hundred and ninety dollars and seventy five cents with Int from the 4th Feb 1851 ~~ One gold watch valued at Seventy five dollars together with my entire estate where ever the same may be found ~ I desire shall be disposed of as follows. First I desire that all my Just debts shall be paid ~ The remainder of my estate I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Ann Rebecca Wilson during her natural life or widowhood, and at her death or marrying again. thin[sic] and in that case I give my entire estate to my beloved daughter Lucy Avent Wilson to her and her heirs forever Lastly I nominate and appoint my friend Jahiel Atwater my executor to this my last will and Testament believing he will carry out the same according to my wishes Signed sealed & published John W.
