that is to Say Principally And first of All - I Give and Recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it ~~ and my Body I Recommend to the earth to be Buried in a Decent Buriel ~~ at the Discretion of my Executors ~~ Nothing Doubting but at General Resurrection I Shall Receive the Same again by the Mighty Power of God ~~ And Touching Such worldly Estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I Give ~~ Demise ~~ and Dispose of in the following ~~~ Man[n]er and form ~~~ first ~~ it is my will that all my Just Debts and Funerall Expence be paid As Speedily As possible ~~ Secondly ~~ I Give And bequea= th unto my loveing Wife Elinor the Plantation where= =on I now live with all the farming Utentialls ~ And Household furniture ~~ excepting thirty pound of ~~ Feathers ~~ Also I Give my Said wife four Head of Horses ~~ (To Wit) Blase, Ball,~ Buck ~ and Toby ~~ for the use of the Plantation together with all the Stock of Cattle Hogs And Sheep for the use of my Said Wife And family Dureing her life or widowhood and if She my Said wife Should Marry it is my will that She be put to third part of Real and personal estate [page 2] I Give to my four Daughters Margret Mary ~~~ Rebecka and Lucy all the Geese on the plantation to be Supported with the produce of the plantation for the Purpose of making beds for them the Said Daughters ~~~ it is my will that my two Negroes Davi ~~ and Het ~~ be Hired Out untill my Son William com[e] to the age [of] Twenty One Years - the mon[e]y Arising therefrom to be laid for the Support of my Children if thought necessary by my Executors ~~ And if not needed to be put to Interest And the Interest equally Divided between all my children and it is my will that at any time when oppertunity Served that my Executors sell my Negroe wench Het ~~ and Her Price be laid out for a Negro Girl Such as My Executors may Approve And said Girl put in my House for the use of my said wife And Children Dureing the life or widowhood of my Said wife ~ At which time my Negroe boy Isaac together with two former Named Negroes and the Increase of the wench if there Should be any ["to be Sold and" x-out] to be Divided Equally between my Daughters if there Should be more than One for each Girl the Overplus to be Divided between my Boys ~~~ I Give And bequeath unto my Daughter Margret my Negroe Girl Sinthy ~~ And the first living Child She has to my Daughter Mary And the Residue if any to Margret and her Heirs forever with one Feather bed and furniture ~~ I give and Bequeath to Son[sic] William - Estate Papers comprise 56 pages and are found in a folder labeled "Woods, Elihu (1807)" Testator died in Oct 1807 Margaret Wood married James R. Hopkins. Mary and Rebecca died without marrying and without issue. Lucy married Eli Woods, son of Joseph Woods. Died without issue. William died without issue, leaving a will, James Jackson Jr. as executor. Hugh Wood resided in Bedford County, Tennessee, 10 Jul 1829, when he made granted power of attorney to his brother Elihu. On 23 Dec 1819, Dave sold for £200-00-00, Isaac for £250-00-00, Hett for £150-00-00 After Het/Hett/Hetty was sold for £150-00-00, the testator's widow was given Letty in her place. There are several mentions of this i n the estate papers - petitions, answers, accounts and receipts.
