Carolina } In the name of God amen Orange County } I Mary Wood of the County and State above written being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death do make and declare this to be my last will and Testament hereby revoking and disannuling all others and former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made Item 1st After the payment of all my Just debts and funeral expenses I give and bequeath to my nephew James L. Leathers the plantation upon which I now live adJoining the land of said James L. Leathers Fendal Southerland and others which land has heretofore been by me conveyed to my said nephew James L. Leathers by a Deed of Gift to be his, his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever Item 2nd I furthermore give and bequeath to my nephew James L Leathers the following negro slaves Viz Berry a man about thirty eight years old Sarah a girl about nineteen years old Margaret a girl about seven- teen years old Amy a woman about Twenty seven years old and her four children Dilly about eight years old Kinch about seven years old Martha about four years old and Bartlet an infant child of said Amy to him the said James L. Leathers his heirs and assigns all the above mentioned slaves with their future increase which slaves I have heretofore conveyed to my said nephew James L. Leathers by a Deed of Gift above referred to to be his own right & property & at his own disposal [page 2] forever Item 3rd In addition to the foregoing bequests I give and bequeath to my said nephew James L. Leathers all the remainder of my estate of every discription of which I may be seized and possessed at the time of my Death to be his his heirs & assigns forever Item 4th I do hereby make nominate and appoint James L.
