I Solomon Wood of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina, being in sound ~~ mind and memory, Thanks be to God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament; in the manner and form following. (viz) First I request that all my lawful and Just debts should be paid out of my Estate, by my Executor &c. Secondly I give to my wife Elizabeth Wood all my property that is left free from all encumberances during her single life, both real and personal ~~ Estate ~~ and after her death, the property to be all Sold, and Equelly Divided between my Brother Henry Wood and Brother James Wood and Ezekiel Hailey my Brother in law ~~ I do appoint Ezekiel Hailey my true and lawful Executor, and my Wife Elizabeth Wood, my true and Lawful Executrix; to this my last Will and testament, Revoking all other will[s] by me made heretofore; ~~~ In Witness where of I have here-unto set my hand and affixed my seal this 4th day of August A.D. 1830 ~~~~ Signe'd seal'd and Solomon Wood (seal) Delivere'd, in presents of Archd. Cain J. B. Cain J B Leathers Orange County August Term 1830 The Execution of the foregoing Last Will and Testament Solomon Wood was duly proved in open Court by the oath of John B Leathers the Subscribing witness there to and ordered to be Recorded At the Same time the Executor & Executrix there in named appeared in open Court and qualified accordingly Test Additional Comments: Will Book Volume E, page 231 Recorded Aug 1830 Estate Papers comprise 74 pages and are found in a folder labeled "Wood, Solomon (1830)". Testator died in Aug 1830. Testator left no children. Executor sold Julia for $600, was "not more than twenty years of age & healthy & [Henry Wood] believes was worth much more", sold 30 Sept 1835. She was purchased by Zachariah Trice. Elizabeth (widow? sister of petitioner Ezekiel Hailey?) married Arthur Bobbitt (see image 67) Henry Wood listed in South Carolina
