All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Will Book Volume D, page 341 Written: July 12, 1811 Recorded: ca May 1812 Grantor: William Wood Grantee: Masting Cheek [Will Book Volume D, page 341] Know all men by these presents that I William Wood of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina am held and firmly bo[u]nd unto Masting Cheek for the County and State aforesaid in the Just sum of two hundred pounds to be paid to the said Masting his heirs Executors Admrs or assigns to which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself my heirs Exrs Admrs and assigns firmly by these presents sealed with my seal and date this 12th day of July 1811 The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound William Wood hath sold to the said Masting Cheek a certain piece or parcel of land lying on the wild Cat Branch the south side, containing by estimation forty acres be the same more or less, and bounded as follows. Beginning at an Ash, said Mastings Corner running south to John Durhams line thence East with said line to the said Mastings Corn[er] in said line thence North with said Mastings line to the wild Cat down that to the beginning - Now if the said William Wood his heirs Executors Admrs or assigns, does well and truly make or cause to be made unto the said Masting Cheek his heirs or assigns a good and lawful Deed of Conveyance for the above descr- -ibed land then the above obligation to be null and void other wise to be and remain in full force and virtue In Witness whereof the said William Wood doth hereunto set his hand and seal the day and day above written ~~~ Test his Thos.
