William Casey and others to the Court
Petition to confirm a sale of lands

Petition of William Casey, I J Harrell and Carrie Harrell his wife, Bertha 
Casey, Lou Pearl Casey, Eva Casey, S J Casey and Herbert Casey the last 
named an infant, who sues by his guardian A C White.
That J J Casey late of Wayne County dec'd was seized of the following tract 
of land situated in Pamlico County and adjacent to Raccoon Creek, R F 
Casey's line, C S McKett's line, W H Holton's line, Garner's Branch 
containing 75 acres and known as the Ben Casey land and by his will J J 
Casey willed the land to his widow Ellen for the time of her natural life 
and after her death to your petitioners (except I J Harrell), jointly in fee 
simple.
That Ellen Casey is now dead and your petitioners are now in possession of 
said land.
That your petitioners reside in Wayne County except the petitioner, Herbert 
Casey, who resides in the county of Lenoir and none of said petitioners own 
any lands in Pamlico County.
That owing to the small quantity of land and its location, partition cannot 
be made among your petitioners without injury to all of your petitioners and 
a sale of said land will be necessary.
Lemon Casey and J L Hobbs of Pamlico County offered to your petitioners the 
sum of $2,000 for the land and petitioners agreed to accept said offer and 
ask the court to approve the sale.
