C-1 (C = Craven County) 1736, June 12: ELIZABETH CRAFT gives to her grandson FRANCIS DAWSON, born 8 September 1734, son of FRANCIS DAWSON and “my daughter MARY,” the plantation, 630 acres ‘whereon I now live,” beginning a little above ORCHARD CREEK, patented 10 August 1720. Witnesses: WILLIAM CARRUTHERS, JOHN MARTIN, JOHN GOOD, and JOSEPH EDMUNDSON. C-2. 1737, May 14: JOHN MOORE sells to SAMUEL HARVEY 40 acres of land on the South side of LOWER BROAD CREEK, beginning at a pine, &c in PRINCE’S line, patented in 1719. C-1. 1737, Sept. 20: MARTIN FRANCK sells to THOMAS BROWNE land on the North side of Neuse River, beginning at the mouth of Beard’s Creek. C-1. 1737, Nov. 11: ROBERT BOND gives to his son in law JOHN GOOD and wife, Mary, daughter of ROBERT BOND, his plantation on the upper side of LOWER BROAD CREEK, bounding upon JOHN MORRIS’ line, 600 acres patented 30 March 1721 by JOSEPH WILKS. Witnesses: WILLIAM CARRUTHERS and JOHN MORRIS. C-1. 1737, Jan. 20: GEORGE HASKELL (HARKELL) sells to JACOB HOVER land on the North side of Neuse River, on the East side of BEARD’S CREEK, beginning at John Waxdale’s corner. C-1. 1738, Aug. 12: JOHN ACKIS sells to JAMES ROBERTS 270 acres on the North side of Neuse River at the mouth of DAWSON’S CREEK. C-1. 1738 (no day/month given): REES PRICE sells to WILLIAM FORD 100 acres on the North side of Neuse River on the West side of Orchard Creek. C-1. 1739, March 20: JOHN MOORE sells to JOHN IVES 150 acres on the North side of Neuse River at the head of LOWER BROAD CREEK from the tract of 293 acres patented by JOHN MOORE 1 July 1738. Witnesses: SAMUEL HARVEY and CHARLES HOWARD. 1739, March 12: FRANCIS SPEIGHT sells to THOMAS SPEIGHT land on the North side of Neuse River in the fork of Upper Broad Creek, lands brought from SARAH BOND, relict of ROBERT BOND, deceased; granted to SARAH BOND 30 June 1738. C-1. 1739, Nov. 26: JOHN WEST sells to WILLIAM BRYAN 250 acres on the North side of NEUSE RIVER, beginning at Powell’s Creek so running down the river to ISLAND CREEK. Witnesses: THOMAS FULSHIRE and WILLIAM WILLIAMS. C-1. 1740, May 3: JOHN PITTIVER, CHOWAN COUNTY, sells to his brother in law BENJAMIN TALBIT, CHOWAN COUNTY, all that tract of land in Craven County, at BEARD’S CREEK, containing by estimation 210 acres. Witnesses: HUMPHREY and ELIZABETH WEBB. C-1. 1739, Oct. 22: SARAH BOND sells to FRANCIS SPEIGHT land on North side of Neuse River in the fork of BROAD CREEK, patented 30 June 1738. (Wit.) FRANCIS DAWSON, JOHN GOOD and JOHN SASSER. C-2. 1740, March 29: CHARLES HOPTON sells to THOMAS PILSON 400 acres on the North side of Neuse River on the main swamp on Goose Creek. Witnesses: JOHN WILSON and JOHN WILLIAMS. C-3. 1740, May 13: FARNIFOLD GREEN JUNIOR sells to WILLIAM THOMPSON 400 acres on the N. side of NEUSE RIVER of which 300 acres on TARKILL CREEK, adjoining SHANNAWOLFE, called POINT LOOKOUT, likewise 100 acres on the West side of SMITH CREEK, called Hollowing Point.
