State of North Carolina, Pamlico County, THIS DEED made this fourteenth day of February 1912 by A.R. Gatlin and Wife, Minnie Gatlin, of Pamlico County, and Jesse C. Gatlin and Wife, Alice Gatlin of Washington County and State of North Carolina of the first part to J.L. Gatlin of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the second part. WITNESSETH, That said A.R. Gatlin and Wife, Minnie Gatlin, and Jesse C. Gatlin and Wife, Alice Gatlin, in consideration of One dollar and other Valuable Consideration Dollars, to them paid by J.L. Gatlin the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said J.L. Gatlin his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land, in Pamlico County and State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of A.R. Gatlin and others, bonded as follows, viz.: Beginning at the North-east corner of the "Old Fifty-Acre Tract" of the Swamp Land of Bradford Gatlin, Deceased, and runs with the Gaskins and Gatlin dividing Ditch South 29 East to a Slipe Ditch far enough back to include nine (9) Slipes; thence Eastwardly with the said Slipe Ditch to the four-foot Ditch (A.R. Gatlinšs Line) thence with said four-foot Ditch to the North-west corner of the "Old Fifty-Acre Tract"; thence South-eastwardly with the dividing Ditch between the "Old Fifty-Acre Tract" of the Gatlin Land and the H.T. Casey land, to the point of Beginning, containing Twenty-two and one-quarter (22 1/4) Acres, more or less.. The intention of this Deed is to convey nine (9) Slipes of the Northern End of the "Old Fifty Acre Tract". This deed is executed, with two others, upon the common agreement of the heirs of Bradford Gatlin, deceased, for the purpose of Division. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said J.L. Gatlin his heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said A.R. Gatlin and Wife, Minnie Gatlin, of Pamlico County, and Jesse C. Gatlin and Alice personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed of Conveyance, and the said Minnie Gatlin and Alice Gatlin being by me privately examined, separate and apart from their said husbands touching their voluntary execution of the same doth state that they signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that they doth till voluntarily assent thereto.
