Original in possession of Sue Guptill State of North Carolina, Pamlico County, THIS DEED made this Third day of January, 1913, 19__ by Mary J. Appleby, Florence Appleby, Anna Ward, and W.B. Ward her husband, Anna Ward and husband, W.B. Ward being of Craven County, M.J. and Florence Appleby of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the first part to J.L. Gatlin of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the second part. WITNESSETH, That said Mary J. Appleby, Florence Appleby, Anna Ward, and W.B. Ward in consideration of ONE HUNDRED FIFTY Dollars, to them paid by J.L. Gatlin the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said J.L. Gatlin his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land, in Pamlico County and State of North Car. adjoining the lands of S.W. Ferebee, Benjamin Barber and others, bonded as follows, viz.: Beginning at Jackson Street and Fowler¹s Gin Alley, and running with Jackson Street eighty feet; thence at right to the said Jackson Street, westwardly forty-eight feet; thence parallel with Jackson Street, Northwardly eighty feet to Fowler¹s Gin Alley, thence with said alley eastwardly forty-eight feet to the beginning, containing about one-forth an acre, be the same more or less.. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said J.L. Gatlin his heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. And the said Mary J. Appleby, Florence Appleby, Anna Ward, and W.B. Ward do covenant with said J.L. Gatlin his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee-simple; that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said Mary J.
