STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA--Pamlico County, THIS DEED made this 10th day of December 1919 by G.W. Hamilton and wife, Annie Hamilton of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the first part to J.L. Gatlin of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the second part. WITNESSETH, That said G.W. Hamilton and wife, Annie Hamilton, in consideration of Seventy-five & 00/100 Dollars, to them paid by J.L. Gatlin the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said J.L. Gatlin his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land, in Pamlico County and State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of J.L. Gatlin, G.W. Hamilton and others, bounded as follows, viz.: Beginning at the junction of the Fere bee and Gatlin lead ditches and running up the Gatlin lead ditch about 365 yds. to a cross ditch that formerly divided the Bradford Gatlin residence and barn; thence running with said ditch a Westwardly course to what is known as the Gatlin small lead ditch; thence running with the Gatlin small lead ditch Northwardly to the Ferebee lead ditch; thence with the Ferebee lead ditch Eastwardly to the Gatlin lead ditch. The intention of the above description is to convey a tract of land of about 10 acres of which about 3 acres is at present cleared, the said land lying just to the West of the Bradford Gatlin barn and Northwardly of G.W. Hamiltonšs barn on the Gatlin land. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said J.L. Gatlin his heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. And the said G.W. Hamilton and wife, Annie Hamilton covenant with said J.L. Gatlin his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee-simple; that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever. Hamilton and, Annie Hamilton his wife, personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed of Conveyance, and the said Annie Hamilton being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth till voluntarily assent thereto.
