Warranty Deed

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA--Pamlico County,  

 THIS DEED made this 21 day of September 1926 by Walace Gaskins and wife of Pamlico 
County and State of North Carolina of the first part to James L. Gatlin of Pamlico 
County and State of North Carolina of the second part. 

 WITNESSETH, That said parties of the first part for and in consideration of Twelve 
hundred Dollars, to them in hand paid by said party of the second part, the receipt 
of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold, and by these presents does 
bargain, sell and convey to said party of the second part, his heirs a certain tract 
or parcel of land, in Pamlico County and State of North Carolina adjoining the lands 
of Gertrude Daniels RH. Gaskins Celia Eubanks  and others, bounded as follows, viz.: 
 Beginning at Walace Gaskins N.E corner and running Westwardly with the dividing line 
of Walace Gaskins and T.T. Gaskins to R.H. Gaskins N.W. corner thence Southwardly with 
the dividing line of Walace Gaskins and R.H. Gaskins to the Southwest corner of said 
tract and Celia Eubanks tract Thence Eastwardly with the dividing line of Celia Eubanks 
and said tract to the East line of said Tract and West line of Daniels heirs land.

Thence with the dividing line of Daniels and Gaskins tract to the beginning containing 
16 acres more or less. The intent of this is to convey all the land heired to Walace 
Gaskins and H.A. Gaskins in what was the swamp farm from their Father J.H. Gaskins.
 
 TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and 
appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the second part his heirs and 
assigns, in fee simple forever.

 And the said parties of the first part for their heirs, executors and administrators, 
covenants with said party of the second part their heirs and assigns, that they are 
seized of said premises in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee simple; that 
the same are free and clear from all  incumbrances, and that they will warrant and 
defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever.

 IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said _ has hereunto set his hand and seal on the day and 
year above written.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, Pamlico County,
 
 I, J.H. Miller, a J.P. in and for said County and State do hereby certify that 
Wallace Gaskins and, Bessie Gaskins his wife, personally appeared before me this day, 
and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance, and the said 
Bessie Gaskins being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said 
husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the 
same freely and voluntarily, without fear compulsion of her said husband or any other 
person, and that she doth till voluntarily assent thereto.
