North Carolina, Pamlico County. This deed, made this 10th day of September, 1928, by A.R. Gatlin, trustee, party of the first part to J.L. Gatlin, of Pamlico County, state of North Carolina, party of the second part, witnesseth: That whereas, on the 17th day of January, 1922, Jerry Gibbs and wife executed and delivered unto the said A.R. Gatlin, trustee, a certain deed of trust, which is recorded in the office of the register f deeds for Pamlico county, in book 78, page 164; And whereas, there was default in the payment of the indebtedness thereby secured as therein provided, and under and by virtue of the authority conferred by the said deed of trust, and in accordance with the terms and stipulations of the same, and after due advertisements as in said deed of of trust prescribed and by law provided, the said A.R. Gatlin, trustee, did, on the 30th day of August, 1928, at 12:00 oıclock N. expose to public sale the lands hereinafter described, where and when J.L. Gatlin became the last and highest bidder for the same at the price of $500.00 And whereas, the said purchase price has been fully paid or arranged to be paid, as in said deed of trust prescribed: Now, therefore, in consideration of the premises and the sum of one dollar paid to the said party of the first part by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and under, by virtue and in execution of the power and authority by the said deed of trust conferred, and said A.R. Gatlin, trustee as aforesaid, does hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said J.L. Gatlin, his heirs and assigns, a certain parcel or tract or lot of land lying and being in Pamlico county, state of North Carolina, and defined and described as follows, to wit: lying and being in No. ______ Township, adjoining the lands of S.W. Ferebee and J.L. Gatlin and others, and bounded by a line described as follows, namely: Beginning at the center of the Ferebee lead ditch on the Ferebee road and runs Southwardly with the Ferebee road about 576 feet to an iron axle, thence Eastwardly at right angles with the Ferebee road 23 yards to the center of the Gatlin small lead ditch, thence Northwardly with the said ditch to the Ferebee lead ditch, thence Westwardly with said ditch to the beginning, containing about 4 1/2 acres. Also one other tract adjoining the same lands and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at the South East corner of the Ferebee Homestead in the center of the Ferebee lead ditch and running with the Ferebee land ditch, its various courses to J.L. Gatlinıs Hardy Casey land, thence with the Casey line to the J.O. Baxter land, thence Westwardly with the Baxter line to the Ferebee line and with Ferebee line to the beginning. To have and to hold said land and premises and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said J.L. Gatlin, his heirs and assigns forever, in as full and ample manner as the said A.R. Gatlin, trustee as aforesaid, s authorized and empowered to convey the same. In witness whereof, the aid A.R.
