Jno Musgrave born July 29th 1819 on Thursday night between 8 and 9 o'clock Matthew Musgrave born May 12th 1822 on Sunday Morning between 4 and 5 o'clock Died on Wednesday 30th of June 1817 in the morning 1824 2nd Andrew Musgrave Died Tuesday morning 6 o'Clock Sept. 25th 1826 Age 16 years 5 months Robt. T. Musgrave, son of Geo & Sarah Musgrave and Charlotte Harris, daughter of Newitt Harris and Elizabeth Turner were married by the Revd. Docr. Wm. I. Waller on Tuesday evening March 10th 1829 William C. Musgrave sailed from Hampton Roads for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil July 20th 1831 Died in Newbern N C July 15th 1833 Sarah Musgrave, Daughter of James C. and Margaret C. Scott, was born Saturday the 5th of October 1833 between 3 & 4 O'Clock P.M. Robert Thompson Musgrave, the son of James C. and Margaret C. Scott, was born on August 22nd 1835 at 5 minutes after 3 p.m. it being Saturday George Musgrave and family left Trillick [County Tyrone, Province of Ulster, Ireland] May 22nd, 1818, which happened on Friday. Sailed from Movel [Moville] Bay on the 3rd in the ship Prompt, Capt. Wilson, Allen first mate. Landed in St. John's, New Brunswick, July 20th; landed in Baltimore via Amboy, Brunswick, Trenton, Philadelphia, New Castle and Frenchtown August 1820. Robert T. Musgrave went to the Asbury College in November 1818. Went to School to Dr. Hunter May 1819. Went to live with Dr. Jennings in February 1820. George Musgrave set out for Elizabeth City, N.C. Friday August 27, 1820. (signed) R.T. Musgrave Additional notes by Harold Cowper Vaughan George Musgrave emigrated to America from Trillick, County Tyrone, Ireland in 1818 with his family. He was a building contractor in Elizabeth City. His grave headed by a large shaft was still apparent the last time I was in the Episcopal Cemetery [September 1933]. Aunt Mamie Wood described him as a charming old man who "took his two orphaned grandchildren on his knees and sang to them the songs of old Ireland." Additional notes by Emily Randall: The registers of the Church of Ireland at Kilskeery (Diocese of Clogher) mirror the Musgrave bible record A notice in the Elizabeth City Star for Sept 30, 1826. reports the death of the second Andrew Musgrave: DIED In this town [Elizabeth City] on Tuesday last, after a short and severe attack of the bilious fever of only three days, Master Andrew Musgrave, aged 16 years, son of Mr. George Musgrave, of this place. He expired in the prime and vigor of life, leaving affectionate parents to lament their loss. His remains were followed to the grave by the volunteer company of the Elizabeth City Guards, of which he was a member.
