Records of the Friends' Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a monthly meeting held at the house of Caleb Bundy the 13th of ye first Mont 1706/7 The friends met at said meeting proceeding upon business makes choice of James Daws Henry Keton, Stephen Scott John Symons & Edward Mayo to give their attendance at the yearly and Quarterly Meetings of any business that friends shall require. Also Jeremiah Symons and Caleb Bundy to represent the state of our monthly Meeting to the Yearly and Quarterly Meetings. ***** Minutes of the Friends' Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank Precinct Society of Friends. Records of the Friends Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a monthly meeting held in Pasquotank ye 11th of ye first month 1707/8 friends met as their manner is, to Inspect into ye affairs of ye Church Zachariah Nixon and Elizabeth Symons appeared before this meeting the second time & declare their Intentions of taking Each Other in Marriage and being approved of by the said meeting are left to their liberty to take each other It is agreed on by friends of this Meeting that the Monthly Meetings henceforward be kept at the Meeting Houses at Symons Creek & Newbegun Creek beginning first at Symon's Creek ***** Minutes of the Friends' Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank Precinct Society of Friends. Pasquotank Monthly Meeting. October 13, 1709 Volume 01, Page 719 [From The MSS. Records of the Friends' Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank at Symons' ye 13th 8th Month 1709. Friends met as usial to Inspect into the affairs of the Church Jeremiah Symons Junr appeared and through the Perswasions of Some friends Did acknowledge his Errors as followeth I Jeremiah Symons do sincerely acknowledge that I am heartily sorry for my forward & unsavory Expressions & abuse given to friends of what sort soever since their Judgment was passed against me and paper of condemnation against me for my disorderly act for which they gave judgment against me as witness my hand—Jeremiah Symons Junr Also at the above said meeting Mathew Pritchard acquainted friends that he had a concern upon his mind to visit friends in Virginia & desireth a few lines by way of certificate to friends there. The Meeting consenting thereto do appoint William Everigin and Benjamon Pritchard to write the same. ***** Minutes of the Friends' Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank Precinct Society of Friends. Pasquotank Monthly Meeting. October 19, 1710 Volume 01, Pages 731-732 [From the Mss. Records of the Friends Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a Monthly meeting Held in Pasquotank at Symon's Creek ye 19th Day of 8th Month 1710 Friends met as their manner is to Inspect into the affairs of said meeting The four friends appointed to Visit Joseph Jordan appear and inform this meeting that notwithstanding the Indeavors and perswasions with him to retract or Acknowledge his error in Striking William Griffin and refuses to hear them Disregarding their tender advice and council to the Dissatisfaction of this meeting and friends in General who might have given judgment against the said Disorder had it not been for Joseph Glaister & Mathew Pritchard who in their tender love to him Desired to Visit him again which the Meeting Readily assented to Desiring them to bring his result to next Monthly Meeting. Also at the said Meeting the Overseers requested to be Released from their Service the Meeting Consenting thereto have Chosen Edward Mayo & William Everigin to serve in their stead ***** Minutes of the Friends' Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank Precinct Society of Friends. Pasquotank Monthly Meeting. November 16, 1711 Volume 01, Page 813 [From the MSS. Records of the Friends Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a Monthly Meeting held in Pasquotank at Newbegun Creek the 16th of the 9th Month 1711 The friends appointed to visit Ephram Overman have discoursed him concerning his forwardness in assisting the Souldiers to defend himself and others with carnal weapons contrary to our known principles the which after further Consideration he acknowledged to be an error in him and hoped for the future to take better care and walk more circumspectly Also Thos Robinson and Sarah Symonds published their intentions of marriage the second time Nothing apeared against it Therefore friends leaves them to their Liberty to Compleat the Same Also William Everigin & Elizabeth Henley Declared their Intentions of Marriage it being the first time friends appoint Henry Keaton & John Symons to enquire into his life & Conversation and Clearness in respect of Marriage ***** Minutes of the Friends' Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank Precinct Society of Friends. Pasquotank Monthly Meeting. February 21, 1713 Volume 01, Page 905 [From the MSS. Records of the Friends Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a Monthly Meeting Held in Pasquotank at Symonses Creek the 21st 12th mo 1712— Frends Meet &c. The frend appointed upon act of John Turner & Esther Belman makes report he hath so done And the said Friends appearing Desired that they might be Clear from each other Friends desired them to be Careful not to do the Like any more ***** Minutes of the Friends' Monthly Meeting in Pasquotank Precinct Society of Friends. Pasquotank Monthly Meeting. June 17, 1713 Volume 02, Page 37 [From the MSS. Records of the Friends Monthly Meetings in Pasquotank Precinct.] At a Monthly Meeting Held in Pasquotank at Symonses Creek the 17th 4th Month 1713. This Meeting Considering the Gross and Vile Aspersions That Thomas Robinson hath Spread abroad against Mathew Pritchard tending to Defame the Truth and make Friends odious appoint James Davis & Zacheriah Nixon to speak to him to be at the next Monthly Meeting. Also the Meeting's judgment is that all Friends that do suffer on Truth Act Either for not bearing arms or Refusing to pay Parish levies towards the support of the Churches so called do keep a true act of the sum they suffer & the day distress is made and Render the same to either John Symons or Joseph Gloster Also the queries were read and answered to, and Friends Desire is that all Friends be careful to keep work day meeting. Also Friends appoint John Morris & Henry White to represent the state of this meeting to the Quarterly Meeting.
