Pasquotank County, NC - Revolutionary War Pension Claim of Lucy Fields ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HeritageQuest Online Isaac Wood, Claim # R.3530 Series: M805, Roll: 319, Image: 510, File: R3530 North Carolina } Chatham County } Declaration In order to obtain the benefit of the acts of Congress of the 7th July 1838, 3rd March 1843, & 17th June 1844 On this 16th day of April 1847, personally appeared before me Robert Woody one of the acting Justices of the Peace in and for said county, Lucy Fields a resident of said county aged eighty-four years, and on oath, made the following declaration That she is the widow of Richard Fields dec'd and was formerly the widow of Isaac Wood dec'd who was a private soldier in the War of the Revolution who lived in Pasquotank County North Carolina in the time of said war, that she is under the impression he served as a private for twelve months under the command of Captain Yarborough and Col. Abram Shepherds Regiment, that she is of the opinion he served another tour of six months in said war and that he did render as much as eighteen months service in the said war of the Revolution as she allways understood from him, and that the services were rendered near the middle or latter part of said war and that the discharges are lost, that she was married to her first husband Isaac Wood in Pasquotank County N.C. in the year 1785 (seventeen hundred & eighty five) and there resided until about the year seventeen hundred & eighty-nine (1789) until after their 2d child John was born, when the removed and settled in Caswell County N.C. where they lived until seventeen hundred & ninety two about three years during which time William their third child was born, and then they removed and settled in Chatham County N.C. where she now resides, and where said husband Isaac Wood died in the year seventeen hundred & ninety six, she afterwards married Richard Fields in November seventeen hundred & ninety seven, who died in the year eighteen hundred & twenty eight (1828), that she was not married to her first husband the said Isaac Wood prior to his leaving the service but the marriage took place previous to the first of January seventeen hundred & ninety-four (1794) Sworn to and subscribed } this 16th April 1847 } Lucy (her x mark) Fields Robt.
