Edenton Gazette    Thurs.   Oct. 20, 1808 October 20, 1808
  -- To the Freemen in the Electoral district of Edenton, composed of the 
Counties of Gates, Chowan, Perquuimans, Pasquotank, Camden and Currituck.
   The Subscriber respectfully offers his services as a Candidate for Elector 
to vote for President and Vice President of the United States -- should he be 
so fortunate as to be elected, he will vote for JAMES MONROE or CHARLES C. 
PINCKNEY for President; as he supposes only one of them will be run in 
opposition to JAMES MADISON.
