Edenton Gazette, Tues., Oct. 8, 1811 October 8, 1811
   COMMITTED to jail of Pasquotank, on the 18th September, 1811, a Negro woman 
named MERIER, said to be the property of JOEL SMITH; which Negro was sold by 
JOHN MULLEN, ESQ. of Pasquotank County some two or three years past. The owner 
is requested to prove his property, pay charges and take her out of jail.
