He had been at work the previous day at the Seaboard Citizens Bank, where he had been employed as chief engineer for 22 years. Mr. Edney was the son of the late Benjamin and Mrs. Frances Stewart Edney, a native of Pasquotank county, N. C., and had resided in Norfolk for 35 years. He was a steward of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church and a member of Atlantic; Lodge 2, A. F. & A. M. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Saunders Edney, formerly of Suffolk; three daughters, Misses Carolyn, Frances and Nellie Edney, of Norfolk; a son, B. Tazewell Edney, .of Norfolk; a brother, Robert B. Edney, Elizabeth City, N. C„ and a half-brother, J. T. Lynch, of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the Funeral Home of E. Lee Cox & Brother, 631 Westover Avenue to Colonial Avenue Methodist Church for funeral services tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. S. Gresham, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.
