Death of Mrs. W. A. Newbold

   Mrs. SARAH A. NEWBOLD wife of W. A. NEWBOLD, died at her 
residence in LaGrange, Thursday evening, September 27, 1900.
She had been sick but a few days. Her age was about 52.
She was born in Pasquotank county where she spent the 
greater portion of her life. She was a member of the M. E. 
CHURCH. She came to LaGrange in 1897 with her two sons who 
then took charge of the High School here. W. J. and N.C. 
NEWBOLD, sons of the deceased, were summoned by telegraph
and were present at the funeral serviches which were 
conducted by Rev. T.H. SUTTON. Her brother, J.T. TRUEBLOOD,
of Norfolk, also came. A husband, two sons and one daughter
mourn therir loss. The burial took place in the LaGrange
Cemetery Friday afternoon. Many friends gained during her
residence here are made sad by her sudden taking off. We
extend our hearfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
