Pasquotank County

   Know all men by these Present that we WILLIAM SCARBROUGH & JONATHAN 
HEARRING are held and firmly bound unto our Sovereign Lord the King his Heirs 
and Successors in the Just and full sum of Fifty Pound Proclamation Money for 
the true Payment whereof we Jointly and Severally bind ourselves our Heirs, 
Executors and Administrators and each of them firmly by these Presents Sealed 
with our seal and Dated this Ninth Day of July Anno Dom 1774
   The Condition of the above Obligation is such that Where as the above 
bounden WILLIAM SCARBROUGH hath made application for a Licence for a Marrage 
to be Celebrated between him and LUCEY SAWYER of Pasquotank aforesaid 
according to the Dirictions of an Act of Assembly of this Province Ratified 
the 4th of April 1741. Now if it shall not appear at any time Hereafter that 
there is any Lawfull Cause to obstruct the said Marrage then this obligation 
to be Void else to remain in full Force and Virtue.
