Marriage Bond Book
North Carolina
Pasquotank County

   Know all Men by these Present that we ROBERT BURFOOT, WILLIAM WRIGHT Sen., 
& WILLIAM WRIGHT Jun. are held and firmly bound unto our Sovereign Lord the 
King his heirs and Successors in the full and Just Sum of Fifty Pounds 
Proclamation Money for the True payment where of We Jointly and Severally bind 
our selves our heirs and Executors and Administrators and Each of them Sealed 
with our Seals and Dated this 2nd September 1774.
   The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the above 
bounden ROBERT BURFOOT made application for a Licence for a marriage to be 
Celebrated between him and LYDA WRIGHT of Pasquotank County aforesaid Spinster 
According to an Act of Assembly of the Province Ratified the 4th of April 1741 
Now if it shall not appear at any time hereafter that there is any Lawfull 
Cause to Obstruct the said Marriage then the above obligation to be void Else 
to Remain in full force and Virtue
