OBADIAH FEARE
June 5, 1714

In the name of God Amen.

   The Fifth Day of June In the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven & nine four
(?) I OBADIA FEAR of Alligeter In the presinck of Pascotank & County of 
Albinarle Planter being very sick and weak of body but in perfect mind & 
memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling into mind the mortallity of 
my body and knowing that it is apoynted and for all men to dye do make & 
ordaine this my Last Will and Testament. That is to say Princepally and first 
of all I give and recommend my soule into the hands of God that gave it & my 
body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent and Christian maner. 
Nothing doubting but att the generall resurrection I shall receive the same 
againe by the almighty power of God and as tutching such worldly estate 
wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and 
dispose of the same in the following maner and form.

   Imprimis: I give and bequeath unto WILLIAM LUDFORD Jun. the plantation I 
now dwell on.

   Item. I give unto SARAH LUDFORD my best feather bed and all the furniture 
thereunto belonging, two sheep, two peuter dishes, two cowes and calves.

   Item. I give unto ANN LUDFORD two peuter dishes, a cow

   Item. I give unto CHRISTIAN LUDFORD Jun. a cow, a peuter dish, two small 
basons and a tankart, six plates

   Item. I give unto MARY LUDFORD a cow.

   Item. I give unto MARTHA LUDFORD a cow.

   Item. I give unto TOMSON LUDFORD a cow.

   Item. I give unto THOMAS LUDFORD my gun and a cow.

   Item. I give unto WILLIAM LUDFORE Sen. all the rest of my moveable estate 
that remains.

   Item. I ordain WILLIAM LUDFORD Sen. to be my sole Exect. And to see this my 
Last Will fullfild.

   Item. I will that my dear Wife ANN FEARE have the whole management of my 
estate both real and personall during her naturall life and I do hereby uterly 
disalow revolk and ???? all and every other former testaments wills legases 
and bequests and executors by me in any ways before named willed and 
bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and 
Testament where of I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Day and yeare 
above written.
