I John Wood of the State of North Carolina & Pasquotank County being very sick in body but of perfect sound memory knowing that God has appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First of all I ???? my soul into the land of Almighty God that gave it and my body to be dessently buried in Christain Burial. My will and desire is for as much of my prosperity to be sold as will pay all my just debts. ITEM I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Wood one feather bed furniture two cows and calves, two sows and pigs ten barrels of corn. ITEM I give and bequeath to my Loving Son Joseph Wood the east end of my plantation the loin(line) being bounded as I marked the loin(line) my selfe. ITEM I give and bequeath to my Loving Son William Wood the Northwest part of my land joining the land that formerly belong to John Cook. Pritchards(?) land and one horse-- ITEM I give and bequeath to my loving Son James O Kelley Wood the Southwest part of my land joining Joseph Wood's part and along the Road Ditch to John Cook and Robart Spences then along a loin(line) of marked treesto the first station and one horse named Tom & one feather bed and furniture------If my Son James O. Kelley should die without a ???? ???? heair of his body the above land to be eaquelly devided between Joseph Wood & William Wood------ ITEM I give and bequeath to my loving Daughter Susannah Wood one feather bed & furniture one beaufort one sofa and one chest. ITEM I give and bequeath to my loving Daughter Elizabeth Spence one feather bed & furniture. ITEM allso again I give & bequeath to my well beloved Wife all my property that is not before mentioned as long as she remains my widdow and (word illegible) and then to be devided the one half to my Daughter Susannah and the other half to between my Daughter Elizabeth and all the children she now has & may have at that the time of the division shear and shear alike. I therefore nominate and appoint my loving Son Joseph Wood & my loving Son William Wood to be my last and sole Executors to this my last will and testament Evoking all forever will or wills by me made and a knowledge this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have herein to set my hand and seal this 18th day of February one thousand eight hundred & three.
