Born July 1, 1856, at Belvidere, NC.
He was educated at the Kansas State University.
Entered railway service 1882 as clerk in general passenger and ticket office 
Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Rd, since which he has been consecutively rate 
clerk, chief rate clerk, chief clerk, assistant general passenger and ticket 
agent; and to Feb. 1, 1897, general passenger agent same road;
Feb. 1, 1897 to May 1, 1898, general passenger agent St. Louis & San 
Francisco Ry;
May 1, 1898 to Oct. 4, 1905, passenger traffic manager Atchison Topeka & Santa 
Fe Ry System;
Oct. 4, 1905 to date, vice-president same system in charge of traffic.
