Perquimans County, NC - Thomas Blitchenden to Charles Wilks, 1727 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Perquimans County Deed Book B, # 261 To all Christian People to Whom these Presents shall Come Greeting -- Know ye that I Thos Blitchenden of Perquimans in No. Carolina For and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty two Barrels of Good & Sufficient Tuar to me in hand paid by Charles Wilks of the Place aforesaid the Receipt of which I do Hereby Acknowledge And myself to be therewith fully satisfied Contented & paid Have Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Conveyed & Confirmed & Do by these Presents freely Clearly & Absolutely give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Convey & Confirm to him the said Charles Wilks to him his Heirs & assigns forever & Certain My Messuage a part of a Tract of Land Lying and being in Perquimans Precinct on the ____ ____ Lists of Perquimans River Joining the land now in Possession of Nathl. Williams his line and Joining to the land now in Possession of John Arline And Joining on Martin Aspell his Various Courses by Aline of Marked Trees Dividing of the said Blitchenden land and the land Above Said to the first Station the land aforesaid being part of A Tract of land Granted by Patent to the said Thomas Blitchenden Bearing Date July the 14th 1725. The land aforesaid being in contents one hundred & fifty Acres of land - To Have and to Hold the Said one hundred & fifty Acres of Land with all & Singular the Appurtenances to him the Said Charles Wilks to him his Heirs & Assigns forever in as full & ample Manner to all intents & purposes as the land in Albemarle County are held by virtue of the Great Deed of Grant from the true & Absolute Lords & Proprietors of Carolina and that the Sd. Charles Wilks Shall & May from time to time and at all times for and hereafter by virtue of these Presents shall Hold occupy Possess & enjoy the said Granted & Bargained Premises with the Appurtenances free from the let Hindrance or Molestation of any person or Persons whatsoever And I the said Thomas Blitchenden do further covenant & Bind myself my Heirs Executors Admrs & every of them firmly by these Presents forever to Warrant & Defend the said Charles Wilks him his heirs or Assigns in quiet & Peacable Possession of the above Bargained Premises free from the lawfull Claim of any Person or Persons Whatsoever In Testimony of Which I have to these Presents set my hand & seal this 8th July Anno Dom 1727 – Signed Sealed & Delivered in the Presence of us -- Thomas Blitchenden Francis Newby Nathan Newby The above Deed was Acknowledge in open court July the 19th 1727.
