MERRILL LEON WARD

SUFFOLK – Merrill Leon Ward, 63, 527 Virginia Ave., died Wednesday in a 
Norfolk hospital.
  A native of Hertford, N.C., he was a retired painting contractor and was a 
member of First Baptist Church.
  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lola Palmer Ward; two daughters, Miss 
Sharon Ward of Suffolk and Mrs. Nancy Perrin of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, 
Mrs. Eudora Byrd and Mrs. Pauline Anderton, both of Suffolk; a brother, 
Wallace Ward of Norfolk; and three grandchildren.
  A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral 
Home by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Poplin.
  Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
