C. SUNBURY, N.C. - Funeral services for John Elbert Winslow, father of Mrs. James H. Goodwin of Suffolk, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Up River Friends Church, Perquimans County, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Twiford Funeral Home in Elizabeth City to the church at 1 p.m. Mr. Winslow, 75, a farmer, died Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in his home at Sunbury after an illness of seven months. A native of Perquimans County, he lived here 40 years. He was a son of John F. and Mrs. Julia White Winslow. He was the husband of Mrs. Bessie Rountree Winslow. Other survivors are his widow; four other daughters, Mrs. L.W. Bray of Elizabeth City, Mrs. W.R. Craft of Sunbury, Mrs. Charles C. Strickland of Spring Hope and Mrs. Erie Barrow of Corapeake; three sons, Ocil Winslow of Corapeake, James Winslow of Hurdle Hill and Carson Winslow of Sunbury; two half-sisters, Mrs. Maggie Riddick and Mrs. Eula Stallings of Belvidere; a brother, Frank Winslow of Deep Creek, a half- brother, Jim Winslow of Belvidere; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
