ALMA HERMAN "JOE" WINSLOW

  SUFFOLK - A funeral service for Alma Herman "Joe" Winslow Sr., 56, was held 
Tuesday, April  9, in Colonel  Funeral Home, Smithfield with Rev. Warren F. 
Taylor and Dr. Millard Stevens officiating.

  Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield.

  Pallbearers were: E.L. Hurdle, Ray Hurdle, Royce Hurdle, Ellis Winslow, 
Clifford Winslow and Henry G. Bradshaw.

  Winslow, of 4436 Godwin Blvd., died in his home.

  A native of Belvidere, N.C. he was the husband of Mrs. Pauline Goodson 
Winslow and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. N.F. Winslow Sr.

  He was a farmer.

  He was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church Chuckatuck Ruritan Club, and 
Virginia Mutual Insurance Association.

  Besides his widow, survivors include a daughter, Miss Brenda Jo. Winslow of 
Windsor; a step-daughter, Mrs. Patricia Johnson of Suffolk; two sons, A. 
Herman Winslow, Jr. of Suffolk and William C. Winslow of Suffolk; a step-son, 
Paul Dyer of  Freeport, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Sybil W. Winslow of Hertford, 
N.C., Mrs. Daphne W. Rhodes of Battleboro, N.C., and Mrs. Myrtle W. Gardner of 
Carrsville; one brother, Raymond S. Winslow of Suffolk; and several nieces and 
nephews.
