George Washington was the only surviving adult of the marriage The protraits hung in family homes all these years in New market and Knoxville. They were given to my husband, George W. Long, great grandson of Samuel, when his Aunt Libby Long West died in 2002 or'03. The portraits now hang on our walls at 21 Fruit Hill Drive in Chillicothe, OH. Samuel Long married again to Anna Maria Parker on June 9,1864 and had 5 more children, but only two sons survived, William H. Long and Samuel Long, Jr who was president of the KALEM Movie Company, in New York City. He lived from 2/23/1875-7/28/1915. He married Alice M., who lived into the 1960"s and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. We have many original notices of his obits as he was also an inventor in the movie field and was associated with Thomas Edison. Additional Comments: We have the Long family bible where all these names are entered with dates and all many family pictures, which I have compiled into an album in MS word. I am looking for information on Thomas and Dorothy Long who were the parents of Samuel and any info on their ancestors. We are thinking of donating the two portraits to your archives if you would be interested.
