Know ye that I Ipael Perry am inform of body but of perfect mind and memory for which I am thankful to him who is the author of all our blefsings and remembering that it is appointed for all men once to die and the time very uncertain do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following…. Item 1. It is my will that all just debts and legacies be first discharged in due time after my death by my executors hereinafter named… Item 2. I give and bequeath unto my son Josiah Perry all such part of my estate as I have given him heretofore to him and his heirs forever… Item 3. I give and bequeath unto my son Ipael Perry the manner Plantation and lands whereon I now dwell only I make a reserve to my loving wife and also my Brandy still only I make a reserve to my wife which will be mentioned hereafter and also one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever…. Item 4. I give and bequeath unto my son John Perry one Plantation land which I bought of David Rogerson and also one Plantation and lands which I bought of Daniel Rogerson and one cow and calf and twenty Spanish milled dollars to him and his heirs for ever… Item 5. I give and bequeath unto my son Cader Perry one plantation and lands which I bought of Thoms Newby the said land in Chowan County and also one me page or part of tract of land to being in Pasquotank County which said land I bought of Benjamin Newby and one cow and calf to him and his heirs for ever… Item 6. I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Perry one plantation lands and improvements that I bought of John Perry and also one mepage or part of a tract of land that I bought of my feather, Jacob Perry and also all the rest of my lands joining there unto one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever… Item 7. I give and bequeath unto my loving wife the use of my manner Plantation during her widowhood or until my son Ipael Perry comes to lawfull age and also my brandy still until my son Ipael Perry comes to lawfull age or until my wife marry only it is my will that the two necks of land next to my brother Jacob Perry joining the river Swamp shall be cleared before my son Ipael Perry comes of lawful age and also the use of the plantation which I rented of the executors of J Winslow DS until the lease of said place is out with her paying the rent of said place yearly. I also leave her the use of all my negros during her widowhood or until my son Ipael Perry comes to lawfull age and at the expiration of either of the times aforesaid to be equally divided between my wife and my eight youngest children. I alsogive unto my wife provisions sufficient to serve her and her family one year after my death. I also give her one feather bed and furniture also one cow and calf also twenty pounds current money. I also give her all my flas wool and cotton spun and unspun. I ask leave to be equally divided between my wife and my four youngest daughters all my spinning wheels and cards also my clasbackle and loom and gear. I also leave to be equally divided between my four youngest sons all my wearing apparrel and it is my will that if any of my sons shall die before they come of lawfull age or without lawfull ipue that the land which is given to them shall be sold at publick sale by my executor and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided between all my children then living. I also give and bequeath unto my four youngest daughters. Viz. Millicent Ruth Rachel and Ann Perry, each of them one cow & calf and one hundred acres twenty pounds current money to be equally divided be3tween them and also it is my will that all my plantation except this whereon I now live shall be rented out at the discreption of my executor and the money arising from each plantation to go to the owner of said plantation; and it is my will that the stock of cattle shall continue upon each plantation until the heir of the plantation comes to lawfull age and it is my will that any executor shall make use of the stocks of cattle as they shall think will be of most profit to my estate and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided between my wife and eight youngest children if my wife continueth a widow and it is my will that the stock of cattle shall be sold at publick sale when the heir of each place shall come to lawfull age and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided between my wife and my eight youngest children if my continueth a widow and I also give and bequeath unto my loving wife my bay horse and also one side saddle and one man saddle and bridle. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Pripillah, Twine all such pass of my estate as I hath already given her to her and her disposal… And it is my will that all my hard money shall be kept in the kind and be equally divided between my wife and eight youngest children and paid to them as they shall come of age; and it is my will that all my estate that is not given away heretofore shall be equally divided between my wife and eight youngest children immediately after my death; and I leave to the disconfession of my executors to sell and part of my estate that is not given away heretofore; and I also conconsituate and appoint my beloved wife executor in and Phillip Perry and Thomas Twine executors to be this my last will and testament fulfilled and performed according to the intent and meaning therefore disannulling and revoaking all other wills y me made or mentioned confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witnefs whereof I have here unto set my hand and fet my seal thi third day of February in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine (1779) Signed sealed published and declard as his last will and testament in presence of Waxle Perry and Benjamin Perry and Caleb Winslow (signed) Iprael Perry (Sealed) Perquimans County April Court 1779 I hereby certify that the foregoing will was proved in open court by the oath of Jacob Perry.
