Additional Comments: Will abstracts don't mention son George. Birth, Marriage and Death Records for Berkeley/Perquimans show that Christopher was born in 1685, making him about 11 when Joseph's will was probated so either that sufficed for him to be co-executor or the birth information is incorrect. No birth information for Joseph available in those records but the will suggests that he was the oldest son. George was born about 1687, Hannah (DOB unknown) married Francis Beasley 15 May 1701 and died 7 Nov 1707, a day after giving birth to their son Robert. Christopher is probably the Christopher Sutton who married Meriam/Miriam Toms, d/o Joshua and is mentioned in Joshua's will probated 1732. Nathaniel married Elizabeth Chancy, d/o Wm (will pro 1749) and sister of Wm Jr (will 1736). Joseph Sr (decedent) was s/o George and Sarah (possibly Tilden) Sutton, and was probably born in Nansemond County, VA. George died 12 Apr 1669, Sarah on 20 Mar 1677. Nathaniel Sutton (d 1682 Perquimans) and Sarah (who married John Barrow 1668 Perquimans) were probably Joseph's uncle and aunt, though "History of Perquimans County" by Ellen Goode Winslow says that Nathaniel was Joseph's brother. Per "History", Nathaniel was the first Sutton to come to Perquimans, soon after his 1668 marriage to Deborah Astine in Nansemond County, VA, and they became Quakers; it's possible they were already Quakers, as Friends were migrating into North Carolina due to intolerance and persecution in Virginia according to other historical sources.
