The graves are in a clump of briars and bushes on the right side of the farm road that begins on the right side of the brick house. John Baker Oakley's parents may be buried here according to JBB records. Their names are not known yet. OAKLEY, Alexander Simeon, Feb 16 1854 - Oct 15 1855. He departed this life Oct the 15th day between 1 and 2 o'clock A.D. 1855, aged one year & 7months & 29 days: the second son of Francis Lendon and Judith Carver Oakley. OAKLEY, Sarah A Barrett, ca 1830 - Jan 5 1863, Her husband, William A Oakley, born Sep 22 1829, died in the Civil War in Winchester Va, from a wound received at Sharpsburg Md, Sep 17 1862, aged 33 years, & 3 days. His wife, Sarah Oakley, died Jan 5th 1863, suddenly. Just seven days before her death, Sarah Oakley had given birth to their last child, Sarah Ann Oakley. This child died while still an infant. A marker in memory of Sarah has been placed in the Moses L Oakley Cemetery on Archie Clayton Road, near Ceffo. OAKLEY, Samuel David, May 12 1857 - Oct 11 1863, departed this life Oct the 11th aged 6 years 6 months & 29 days, the third son of Francis Lendon & Judith Carver Oakley. OAKLEY, Rozilla Frances, May 16 1864 - Jul 17 1864, departed this life Jul 17th 1864, aged 2 months & 1 day: the 6th daughter of Francis Lendon & Judith Carver Oakley OAKLEY, Harriet Virginia, Apr 3 1862 - Jul 20 1864, departed this life Jul 20th after 11 o'clock, aged 2 years, 3 months & 15 days: the 5th dayghter of Francis Lendon & Judith Carver Oakley. OAKLEY, John Baker, Nov 6 1803 - Jul 27 1864, John Baker Oakley deceased July 27th, A.D. 1864. Nancy Oakley dec'd 27th Jul 1882, aged 78 years. OAKLEY, Judith "Judy" Carver, Oct 27 1830 - Aug 5 1864. Judy Oakley, the wife of F. L. Oakley, departed this life August the 5th, 10 minutes after 11 o'clock in the morning, aged 33 years, 9 months & 9 days. She was the daughter of Josiah and Elizabeth Carver. At the time of Judy's death she had already lost 4 of her 9 children. OAKLEY, Emily Frances, Jul 20 1860 - died very young. Twin daughter of William A & Sarah A Barrett Oakley. OAKLEY, Nancy Carver, Jun 21 1804 - Jul 27 1882, Nancy Oakley dec'd 27th July 1882, aged 78 years, wife of John Baker Oakley, daughter of Lozen & Hannah Hamlin Carver. NEWTON, Nancy Ann Oakley, 1851 - Jun 29 1886, First wife of James Thomas Newton (married Oct 29 1879) and daughter of William A & Sarah Barrett Oakley. She was the mother of John William and Mary Ellen Newton. CARVER, Elizabeth "Betsy" Oakley, ca 1835 - ca mid 1860's, daughter of John Baker and Nancy Carver Oakley, wife of Paul Carver (married Dec 2 1850). Paul Carver was in the Civil War and died in the army Nov 12th 1862. They had at least 6 children: Andrew, David, Delilah, John, Stephen and Alex. CARVER, W Andrew, Jun 29 1858 - Oct 14 1911, son of Paul and Betsy Oakley Carver, married first to Lizzie Briggs. CARVER, David, died about 1925. Mrs Luvenia Carver Clayton said in October 1943 that David Carver died "about 15 years ago and was buried in the old John B Oakley graveyard".
