The Standard of Raleigh, April 27, 1859
               MAD STONE
   There is a Mad Stone at MR. JOSEPH POINTER'S in Person County, N. C., eight 
or nine miles east of Milton and 12 or 13 miles south by west of Roxsboroough. 
DR. POINTER, formerly of Caswell, carried one piece to the West, but left the 
other in Person County. It will cure the bite of a mad dog or spider. Persons 
afflicted should go to him, as I do not know that he would send the rock to me.
