Garrett died Saturday morning from Pneumonia. He was 76. Was ill 3 days. Prominent citizen of the Barton's Mill community. His Wife: the late Mrs. Charity Garrett, who died several years ago Survivors: Seven sons: George H., E.W., W.A., O.J., J.R., S.R. and D.R. Garrett, all of the county Five daughters: Mrs. Maria Clayton, Mrs. Charlie McBroom and Mrs. John Mooney, all of this county Mrs. Ruth James and Mrs. R.A. Pearce of Durham Funeral held Sunday at 2:00 pm from the home of E.W. Garrett, by Elder Lex Chandler, assisted by Elder A.L. Holloway Burial in the family cemetery. Pallbearers: Roy and Frank Rodgers, Charlie Clayton, Charlie Day, Thomas Clayton and Dolphin Clayton.
