In the Name of God Amen-- I Gabril Davey of the County of Caswell and State of North Carolina do constitute this my last will and testament... first I give to my son James Davey the land he now lives on.... I give to my son Robert Davey the tract of land he now lives on... I give to my son William Davey the tract of land he lives on ---I give to my son Gabril the tract of land he lives on... I give to my son Edward Bumpas Davey one negro woman named Chana and all her children also one negro boy named Ben... I give to my son John Davey one negro woman named Philis and her child also a boy named Elijah.. I give to my son Ashborn Davey one negro woman named Dinah and her children one negro ?? named Isham. I lend to my wife Elizabeth Davey all the rest and residue of my estate dureing her natural life and at her Death my will is that all my moveable estate be equally devided between my living children and the land I now live on to be equally divided amongst my three youngest sons or aney of them that are then alive. my will is that my son Edward Bumpas Davey have Rose and her children at the Death of my wife and no moore of the moveable property thats to be devided amongst my children at that time. I also desier that my son William Davey have twenty pounds Virginia money out of the money that is oweing to me... and all the money that is now on hand and oweing to me my will is that my wife have it and pay off my debts.. also my will is that all my western?? lands be equally devided between my liveing children, and all the debts due from any of my children to me my will is no account to be taken of it-----given from under my hand this 5th day of October 1791.
